THADEN FIELD (VBT)

It may seem unusual for a downtown municipal airport to be included in a list of backcountry airstrips. But trust us on this one, this is your jumping off point for FLY OZ. For starters, there is a turf runway alongside the paved runway and support such as, supplies, maintenance, on-field restaurant, places to stay nearby – virtually everything you need as an aviation outfitter. The locals that know the condition of the airstrips and best places for your group to visit are located here. Stop in to purchase a guest pass or base here. If it looks like you are going to be grounded for a weather day this is where you want to be located so you can enjoy the museums, bike trails, or just hang out at the FLY OZ Lounge with the locals.
